This stunning property is in Northeastern  Oregon, approximately 24± miles northwest of the small town of Wallowa and 31± miles northwest of Enterprise, the largest city in Wallowa County. Larger towns in the area include La Grande, OR, approximately 60 miles southwest, and Lewiston, ID, 80 miles northeast. The principal industries in the county are agriculture, ranching, lumber, and tourism.

Although a timber cruise isn’t available, a visit to the property will reveal ample timber ready for harvest. Several logging roads throughout the property provide a simple network of roads. Multiple draws traverse the land, mainly connecting flat plateaus. In the stands of trees, you can identify Pine and White Fir. Most of the acreage is perimeter wire-fenced. From the northern portion of the property, you can enjoy expansive views of the Grande Ronde River canyon and Umatilla National Forest across the canyon. And maybe you can navigate a path down the canyon to the river through the BLM (Bureau of Land Management) land. Although, you might have to be a mountain goat to do that.

It is just off Sickfoot Road, with the access point being the second-to-last one on the rural road. There are private lands on three sides, with BLM land to the north, which reaches the Grande Ronde River. This location is ideal for an off-grid cabin or as a base for hunting and other outdoor activities. The property  offers excellent opportunities for deer, elk, and other big game hunting opportunities within Oregon Fish & Wildlife’s Sled Springs Hunting Unit 57. The property may be eligible for Landowner Preference hunting tags.

The area is home to many of Oregon’s greatest wilderness areas, including the Grande Ronde River, which is accessible in Troy, Oregon, only 24 miles away.  Other nearby notables are Wallowa Lake, Wallowa National Forest, and the Eagle Cap Wilderness.
