Location: Caroline’s Island is located in the Kootenai River about 2 miles east from Bonners Ferry, in northern Idaho’s panhandle. The property is approximately 30+/- miles south of the Canadian border, and 80+/- miles north of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

Acreage: 37+/- deeded acres of timberland. The island features a nice natural boat harbor and excellent grassland for tent camping and recreation. The railroad along the channel protects and preserves the island from any nearby development. The channel that creates the island is approximately ½ mile long, 10 feet deep, and up to 150 feet wide, with good water flow. Includes deeded access across the railroad and to the channel. While there is no bridge for automobile access to island; the seller has accessible by foot, boat, or helicopter only. A floating anchored raft or bridge could easily be installed.

Recreation: Good times abound on Caroline’s Island – an ideal setting for fishing, boating, canoeing, rafting, camping, and overnighting. Lots of deer and the occasional bear visit the island, as well as hundred of geese, blue herons etc. There have been major efforts in the recovery of the dwindling population of Kootenai White Sturgeon, and the Kootenai Tribe recently released their hatchery-raised sturgeon back into the river, adding to the already substantial wildlife numbers in the area.
